Ever wonder why our yearbook is called the TUBA? The very first edition in 1914 provides the answer: "TUBA is Latin for trumpet. The old Romans used this instrument for sounding signals to the soldiers in battle... one blast would bring the soldiers up at double quick pace for a division of the spoils. ... We sound our trumpet---the TUBA---calling... boys and girls... to share the chance for education offered by Perryville High School."
