The Perry County Middle School drama club, The Pegleg Players, will present “The Fruitcake” by Dwyane Yancey. The show features 25 students in Grades 6-8 and will be presented on Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 5-7 at 7 pm and Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 pm in the Old Senior High Performing Arts Auditorium. Robbie Riehn is the show’s director.     Tickets are $5 at the door (cash only). If you’d like to reserve a seat, they can be purchased with a credit card at http://pcmsd.booktix.com.

Head West! Mrs. Denita Schilli’s fifth graders are studying Western Expansion, the push toward the west coast of North America that began with the Louisiana Purhase and lasted through the start of the Civil War. The class had a “pack your wagon day” and a Western days to launch their journey west.
Preschool Screening for 2025-2026 is on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Central Office/Old Senior High.  Little Pirates is a free half day Kindergarten Prep Program. An Extended Learning Program is available for the other half of the day for $15 per day. Financial Assistance for those who qualify for free/reduced meals is available. Your child must be 3-5 years old by Aug. 1, 2025,  potty trained and able to take care of all toileting needs independently, attend theDecember 6 Pre-K Screening and must be a resident of Perry County. Reserve your seat now for the annual Senior Citizen Holiday Dinner   The PHS Student Council is inviting senior citizens to join them for an evening of holiday dining and entertainment. The Senior Citizen Holiday Dinner will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, at the PHS Cafeteria. Doors open at 4 pm, serving begins at 4:30 pm. The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and desserts. Decaf coffee, juice, and water will also be served. Each guest will receive a raffle ticket for a variety of door prizes to be given away after dinner. Seating is limited for this free event. The students have been working hard to create two community events, the Holiday Hustle 5K and Holiday Trivia events. These events will fund their individual ventures in the second semester. With the help of their mentors, students will formulate a business idea, create a business, and launch that business in the local community.
D32 hosted its annual Veterans Day Program on Nov. 8.
